Requirements

Due to the detailed 3D-graphics and the advanced and time consuming physics simulation it is highly recommended that your computer system matches the following minimum computer specifications to achieve a smooth simulation speed. Please also read our special section about graphics cards right here. Using the right combination of CPU and 3D-graphics card is important.

Minimum system requirements

  • Intel Pentium 4 or AMD 64 compatible
  • Processor with at least 1,5 Ghz
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 1.5 GB free hard disc memory
  • CD-ROM drive
  • OpenGL version 2.0 compatible 3Dgraphics-card with at least 128 MB (also read here)
  • 100% DirectX 9.0 compatible sound card
  • Windows 2000/XP Vista
  • USB port for the connection of the USB-Interface-cable with a PPM transmitter with trainer jack

Recommended system requirements

  • Intel Pentium 4 with 2.0 Ghz or AMD 64 compatible processor with at least 2.0 Ghz
  • 1 GB RAM
  • OpenGL Version 2.0 compatible 3D-graphics card with 256 MB
  • For optimum sound quality we recommend a high quality standalone PCI soundcard. (Onboard sound cards are generally not recommended)

Supported transmitters

The supplied USB interface cable with 3,5 mm stereo connector is suitable for the following radios:

  • Graupner / JR: FM314, MC10, MC12, MC14, MC15, MC16, MC16/20,
    MC18, MC 20, MC22, MC24, FM4014, JR9x, X-347, X-387, X-388, X-756, X-3810
  • Lexors Nova 4, Nova 4+1 and Nova 6

An separatly available adapter is required when using one of the following radios:

  • Adapter Ordner number 31036 (13,60 Euro) for the following radios:
      Graupner/JR MX-12,MX-16, MX22, 3PJ,T3PJ

  • Adapter Ordner number 31047 (9,90 Euro) for the following radios:
Hitec Focus 4, Eclipse 7, Flash 5, und weitere
      Sanwa RD8000, RD6000, VG400, VG600, Radiant, Vanguard, PPM
Multiplex (All MPX-radios with a trainer output)
      Futaba FC14, FC16, FC18, FC28
      Robbe CM-Rex,Terra Top, FMSS, PCMS

Notes about using the right 3D-graphics card

Using the right combination of CPU and 3D-graphics card is the key to a perfect system. Using a NVIDIA GeForce MX 400 with a very fast Pentium 4 or AMD64 is as useless as using a NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or ATI Radeon X-800 with a 1 Ghz CPU. Please also note that the amount of RAM on the 3D-graphics card does not reflect the performance of the card. The following is a short list of good 3D-graphics cards for use with easyFly3.

Recommended 3D-graphics cards

  • Nvidia GeForce 3 and GeForce 4
  • Nvidia GeForce 4Go / FX Go / Go 6800
  • Nvidia GeForce FX series (5700, 5900)
  • Nvidia GeForce 6 series (6600, 6800, etc.)
  • Nvidia GeForce 7 series (7800)
  • ATI Radeon 9xxx series
  • ATI Radeon X-series (X550, X600, X700, X800, X850, X13xx, X16xx, X18xx)
  • ATI Mobility Radeon 9xxx series
  • ATI Mobility Radeon X series
  • Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 (These cards are Ok, but some model/scenery combinations might not run fast enough)

The following cards are NOT recommended

  • Non ATI oder NVIDIA based 3D-graphics controller
  • All motherboard integrated 3D-graphics controller
  • Any Intel integrated 3D-graphics controller
  • Any AMD integrated 3D-graphics controller
  • Nvidia GeForce2 MX series
  • Nvidia TNT and TNT 64 series
  • All Matrox cards (the current line of Matrox cards is not compatible with AeroFly. There seems to be a driver bug that prevents AeroFly from working)
  • ATI XPert / ATI All In Wonder / ATI Rage (this accounts only for the old 7xxx series. The 9xxx series is highly recommended!)
  • 3DFX Voodoo1, Voodoo2, Voodoo3, Banshee
(The 3DFX company is no longer in business!)
  • S3-Pro Savage
