1.) Error code 2001 under Android

The error code “2001” pointed out a login problem in your Google Play Account. You have probably disabled the auto-sync function. In this case, please enable this function under “Settings” / “Account”. Otherwise please start a sync manually.  

Error code 60000

Our experience shows that error messages within this range are typically caused by an unstable network connection. The issue could be based on your connection environment or a temporary issue with the Wi-Fi Connection.  

Main executable does not work any longer

The error message “Main executable does not work” may have different reasons. support_mainexe If you see this error message immediately after the first installation and you never could start the program, then a problem with the graphics card or graphics card driver is indicated. Please check the video card requirements and make sure that you have the latest video card driver installed. If you have successfully used the simulator before and the error message is not related to the initial installation, the following actions can be the cause:

  • If you changed the graphics settings to a higher quality than your graphics card can handle, you have to reset the aerofly simulator.
  • In all other cases please send a request via the support contact form.

 

Error message at the App Store: Not enough available space/ram

During installation of an Aerofly simulator there is temporarily more space needed than the app allocates later on storage. If you do not have at least 2.5 times the space needed for the app, please appoint another date for the installation of the aerofly simulator.

2.) How to set up daylight? (Mobile version)

You can set up daylight via “Conditions” in the main menu. Use the time slider to change day and night. Please note that this is the coordinated world time (UTC time). Flying in California selects 20h UTC to fly at noon. If you fly in Europe select 12h UTC to fly at midday.

3.) How to fly worldwide

Firstly please ensure that the Aerofly FS 2 is up to date. In the current version there are two ways to fly around the world: 1 ) Go to the main menu and open the map by clicking on “location”. The map can be moved and zoomed worldwide. In aerofly FS 2 the Earth is an ellipsoid. Under navigation you can select airports and navaids worldwide. In the “Location” menu the orientation is purely geographical. 2) Go to the main menu and open “navigation”. The map can be moved and zoomed in or out worldwide. Under navigation you can select airports and navaids worldwide. You can add any waypoint worldwide.

4.) Where can I find the new DLC scenery data? (PC version)

More scenes such as “Switzerland” mean more airfields and a higher resolution in this area. After purchasing the downloadable content (DLC), it will be installed automatically. Restart the Aerofly FS 2 to use the new data. After that open the main menu and select “Locations”. Swipe and zoom in on the map to see the new airports at the region you purchased before. Select one of the new airports and start flying there. Via the main menu and “Region” you only have to do two steps:

  • Purchasing a new In-App scenery
  • Restoring an In-App scenery after an update

To select an airfield in a new In-App scenery proceed as follows:

  • Open “Location” in the main menu
  • Zoom out from California
  • Move the worldwide map to your new scenery
  • Zoom in and select an airfield

The Aerofly FS2 saves the last position. After a restart you should still be in the new scenery.  

 

5.) How to restore an Aerofly FS

PC-Version:

Before an new installation it´s recommended to remove Aerofly FS 2 via the Steam Client. Proceed as follow:

  • Open the Steam client and go to “Library” and select Aerofly.
  • Click right on the game and choose “Delete lolcal files”.
  • By this way all settings and games achievements will be resetted.
  • Restart the Steam Client and search Aerofly under “Library” and “Games” and click on “Install”.Find more infos about the Steam Client at the Steam Support Website

Mobile Version:

The Aerofly FS 2 is sold as an app on the Google Play Store or on the Apple App Store. The support can´t offer any download links or data. 6.) Requirements on graphics card (PC version)

For Aerofly you`ll need a 3D graphics card AMD (ATI) or -R series or a Nvidia Geforce GTX. You need to be aware of the OnBoard graphics chip in your desktop PC. There may be newer generations of onboard graphic chips running Aerofly, but for a smooth performance you are advised to use a high performance 3D graphics card.

A recommendation from practice

 A recent tip is the new GeForce GTX 750 Ti Slim. The installation is very simple because the card only needs to be inserted into the slot on the motherboard and screwed on firmly. This card requires no additional power connection or other special power supply. The fan is quiet and the heat generation is very moderate. Running in a test computer (Windows 10) the card creates permanently 80 FPS (Frames Per Second) with “ULTRA” graphics setup . From 30 FPS onwards, the eye will notice the simulation running smoothly.

The list below shows graphic cards used by our customers successfully. This list should help you in choosing a new PC or a video card. However, this list is not exhaustive! A guarantee of successful operation on different operating systems (and needed graphics card drivers) can not be given. Please always double check on the manufacturer’s website if there are actual graphics card drivers for your operating system available.

R7 200 Series, R7 370, R7 370, R9 290. Some users experienced smooth performance with an onboard Intel HD-4600 graphics processor or higher, other users have experienced sluggish performance with Intel-HD. Hence, we do not recommend Intel-HD anymore.

7.) How to improve graphics card performance? (PC version)

The graphics settings are responsible for lower or higher performance. When the visual is paused again and again the graphics settings are either too high or the graphics card is of the lower range of recommendation. Via the main menu “Settings” / “Graphic” all graphics settings can be changed. The”window mode” (selectable under resolution) instead of a full-screen resolution brings a significant first and significant relief to the graphics card.  

8.) In what range is the screen resolution adjustable? (PC version)

In full screen mode you will get a dynamic selection of screen resolutions. The usable settings depend on the installed graphics card. Using the window mode you can scale the window in an aspect ratio of maximum 1: 2.5 (e.g. 2560 x 1024)

9.) Flight school lessons reset (PC version)

In Aerofly FS 2 you can repeat each flight school lesson as many times as you want. But the ratings can´t be reset individually. However, if you want to pass all the lessons again there are two possibilities for a complete reset: 1) Delete the Aerofly FS 2 via the Steam Client and restore. 2) Go to the user directory C:\\User …\MyDocuments\Aerofly FS 2 and delete the file “mission_progress.tmp”. The advantage of the second way is the joystick settings will not be reset.

10.) Can I install the Steam version on a second PC? (PC version)

The Aerofly FS 2 on Steam is only suitable for desktop PCs with graphics card. You can use a second PC if you wish to do. The PC mentioned must be yours in accordance with the Terms. You have to authorize the second PC via your Steam client. You also can de-authorize a computer. Transferring an account to a third person will be rated as a bootleg!

11.) Update settings at the steam client (PC version)

How to change the Aerofly FS 2 update settings on Steam? If you don´t have changed any settings in your Steam client, then you´ll get any updates automatically. fs2_steam_059a

How to check “automatic updates” status:

  • Open the Steam client and click on “Library”. Select aeroflyFS2 under “Games”
  • Click right on the aeroflyFS2 and select “Properties”.
  • Select the tab “Updates” in the new window, shown on the right
  • “Keep this game up to date” signals that automatic updates are enabled.

To run an update manually, proceed as follows

  • Open the Steam client and click on “Library”. Select Aeroflot FS 2 under “Games”
  • Click right on the Aerofly FS 2 and select “Properties”.
  • Select the tab “DLC” in the new window, shown on the right
  • Here you can see new update and their status.

12.) How do I run Aerofly FS 2 in VR mode? (PC version)

You can run the Steam version of Aerofly FS 2 by double clicking on the desktop icon . Should the Aerofly FS 2 not run in a VR compatible mode please quit the program and restart Aerofly FS 2 via the Steam Client. To do this proceed as follows:

  • Start the Steam Client and open “Library” / “Games”
  • Click left on Aerofly FS 2.
  • Click the blue “Play” button.
  • After that you will get a request for the mode. There you can select the “normal” mode or “Steam-VR” or “Oculus-VR” mode.

13.) What is the tm.log file and where can I find this (PC version)

The text file “tm.log” is very important to the Aerofly support team and for troubleshooting. You can find the tm.log file in the user directory under C: \\ user …. \MyDocuments\ Aerofly FS 2

14.) Der Download bricht immer wieder ab (Mobile Version)

If the download stops please be aware about the free space remaining and try again. Please note that you need 4 GB of free internal space for an installation and smooth running. If you use an Android device do not use the space of a SD-Card! Otherwise please delete Aerofly 2 and restore the app via “AppStore” or “Google Play Store”. After that don´t forget to restore In-App purchases (like California) via “Restore Purchases” in the aerofly app. Please also ensure that you use the same Apple-ID for aerofly and In-App purchases

 

15.) I lost my In-Apps? (Mobile version)

To restore your former In Apps after an update or a new installation, please follow the instructions below:

  • Please click on the green button which is “Restore purchases” and let the app open until the confirmation appears. Because of the data size it can take some time to finish all downloads.
  • During this period, please don`t push back the app into the background by returning to the home screen or opening another app.
  • Please ensure that you use the same Apple-ID as in your original purchase for AeroflyFS2 and any In-App purchases
  • Please check first that you allow aerofly In-App purchases under iOS Settings/General/Restrictions
  • For Android users, please install the Aerofy FS 2 only in the internal space and not in a SD card.
  • Please free up more memory space in your device temporarily if the downloads stop.

 

 

16.) How to activate the ILS? (Mobile version)

fs_ilsThe ILS turns on automatically at an airports aproach. It is also to activate by setting a flightpath under “Navigation”. At the Boeing 747 the ILS appears in the glass cockpit right of the artificial horizon. A direction indicator in the middle and a height indicator on the right are the indicators for the glide path.

 

17.) I can´t change the control between “tilt” and “wipe” (Mobile version)

The “Control” menu is dynamic and depends on the type of your device. For devices with smaller displays or curved displays the menu item “control mode” can be disabled. In this case the screen is not fully usable. If you miss the switch “control mode” you only can use the tilting mode on this device.

 

18.) The F-18 flaps only moves on the ground?

The flaps will move depending on your speed! If you fly faster than 250 knots the flaps will rise up automatically. Reduce the speed until it is below 250 knots and z´the flaps will go down.
